ASCA Launches ACMA Certificate

This qualification aims at meeting the requirements and capacities of accountants in the business and government sectors

DUBAI ------- October 19, 2011-------- As a part of its professional responsibility to develop the profession of accounting and improve the professional capacities of accountants, the Arab Society of Certified Accountants (ASCA) announced its readiness to launch a new Arab qualification by granting the Arab Certified Management Accountant (ACMA) as of 2012.

The news was announced during the annual meeting of ASCA held in the Business Village – Conference Center of Dubai government.

This qualification aims at meeting the requirements and capacities of accountants in the business and government sectors by following the leads of CMA program accredited by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountant (CIMA).

HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, ASCA's Chairman stated "A complete curriculum has been prepared by Arab experts and a professional and scientific approach will be followed."

He said "This qualification is dedicated to specialists in the fields of management and finance such as financial managers, auditors, accountants and personnel of investment and banking sectors."

Moreover, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh pointed out that the requirements to obtain this qualification are a bachelor degree in business administration in all fields and at least two years' experience in the fields of accounting or financial management.

The educational curriculum of ACMA constitutes of two parts, each of which comprises a number of topics related to financial and management accounting as well as cost accounting and financial management.
