TAG-Org Signs Cooperation Agreement with Italian Embassy and Società Dante Alighieri Amman

AMMAN-------June 3, 2015----- Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) and the Embassy of Italy in Jordan signed a cooperation agreement to promote the Italian language and culture.

According to the agreement signed by HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh and the Italian Ambassador to Jordan HE Mr. Patrizio Fondi, the two parties will work jointly in organizing cultural events and activities related to the Italian language and culture in Jordan, including conferences, seminars and workshops, cinema, concerts and opera, dance, art exhibitions, fashion, gastronomy, language courses.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh said: "We are really honored to join our forces with the Italian Embassy in Amman to promote the Italian language education in a society that has demonstrated hunger to learn various languages. The Jordanian society has always been eager to learn and we know that Jordanians has this passion towards everything Italian."

He added: "TAG-Org will dedicate all its resources to serve the Italian culture and language and I thank HE Ambassador Fondi for allowing us to be part of this initiative to be added to our cultural cooperation with China and France."

Meanwhile, the Italian Ambassador said: “Signing this cooperation agreement with the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization is another important achievement to further develop and strengthen stronger ties between Italy and Jordan, starting from the cultural domain.

There are more than 2.400 students learning Italian throughout Jordan and our Countries share a long-lasting and constant tradition, based on dialogue as an instrument to bridge the gap between cultures

We do hope that future joint initiatives between the Italian Embassy in Amman and TAG-Org will be a good starting point to spread more and more the Italian culture and language, both among younger generations and all the Jordanians who want to approach a different way of life”.

TAG-Org also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Società Dante Alighieri – Comitato di Amman to promote a wide range of cultural activities and Italian language courses for both children and adults in Jordan. TAG-Org and the Società Dante Alighieri – Comitato di Amman will focus on teaching Italian in schools in addition to promoting language courses in coordination with Italian universities that offer scholarships to study in Italy.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh and Ms. Maria Rosaria Papa, president and legal representative of Società Dante Alighieri.

DA Amman is looking forward to enlarge the opportunity of learning Italian in Jordan.. We will work together to bring Jordanian students closer to “Il mondo in Italiano”, our motto, which is “The world in Italian”, the world of Italian art, music, fashion, food and traditions.
 
All parties agreed to form joint teams for identifying and considering future cooperation opportunities which has already started with the organization of the first musical event.
 
"Let's Jazz Together, An Italian Portrait" will be the first co-organized activity by the Jordanian National Orchestra Association (JOrchestra) and the Italian Trio to be held on May 14th at the Regency Palace Hotel in Amman.
