French Cultural Institute and TAG-Knowledge Sign Cooperation Agreement to Expand the Use of French Language
08 Apr 2015AMMAN --- April 8, 2015 --- Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Center (TAG-Center) and the French Cultural Institute in Jordan signed a cooperation agreement to expand the use of French language and enhance French knowledge, culture and programs in Jordan and the region.
The signing ceremony was held at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Forum in the presence of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org), HE French Ambassador to Jordan Caroline Dumas, Professor Philippe Lane, Cooperation and Cultural Consultant at the French Embassy and head of the Institute, HE Mr. Ahmad Armoush, president of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Jordan (CAFRAJ) and Mr. Stéphane Delaporte, director of the Institut Français in Amman in addition to a host of diplomatic representatives.
Moreover, unique agreement broadens aspects of mutual cooperation between the two entities which is considered an unprecedented step in knowledge and education promotion in the region.
In addition, the agreement will benefit from the immense and developed network of TAG-Center located throughout the Kingdom in a mechanism to strengthen and expand the French knowledge base in the Jordanian community mainly as the French Institute represents the main cultural front for the French Embassy in Amman.
The agreement also aims at enhancing French scientific and educational programs through TAG-Center’s network including the cooperation with the UNICEF organization in Jordan, in addition to expanding French learning network electronically.
One of the key goals which the agreement will seek to achieve is to facilitate concluding partnership agreements between Talal Abu-Ghazaleh University with French universities and professional institutions that offer e-learning programs.
Commenting on the signing of the agreement, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh said that the agreement with the French Institute opens the door for unprecedented cooperation with the French Republic in the knowledge and scientific fields through TAG-Knowledge Center which reflects the global confidence entrusted to the Organization.
“This confidence is the source of our pride and it constitutes more responsibility that drives us to present the best services in the fields of education, knowledge and education at the highest global standards,” he said
Prof. Lane said that this agreement will strengthen the partnership existing between the French Institute and Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Center in the fields of Education and French Language.
“This agreement is undoubtedly a source of reciprocal trust between our two institutions, and will enhance French cultural and language programs in Jordan”, he said.
