General Assembly Meeting for the Arab Society of Certified Accountants
02 Nov 1992AMMAN – The general assembly for the Arab Society of Certified Accountants (ASCA) in Jordan, convened its fifth annual meeting on October 31, 1992, with the attendance of a representative from the Ministry of Interior.
The participants discussed the activities of the general assembly at both domestic and international levels, its participation in the international committees of accounting and auditing standards, and what’s been accomplished to date in terms of translating publications issued by the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) such as the Rules of Professional Behavior and the Guide to Usage of Financial Statements, in addition to other publications issued in relation to accounting and auditing standards.
The general assembly’s participation in the Fourteenth IFAC Conference that convened in Washington on October 11-14 was also discussed, where Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, Head of the assembly’s Administrative Board was elected as member on the IFAC Board of Directors.
Next year’s action plan for the general assembly was also adopted. At the end of the meeting, a new administrative body was elected for the next two years. Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh was elected as chairman, and Messrs. Tawfiq Ayoub, Fouad Ala’a Eddin, Mohammed Abu-Shreihah, Mahmoud Sa’adeh, Rafik Aldweik, Ahmad Askar, Adnan Khleif and Marouf Almuqbil were elected as the members of the administrative body.
