Seminar in Muscat on Accounting Education and Qualification
31 Aug 1993DOHA – A seminar on accounting education and qualification will be held in Muscat on the third of next October. The seminar will be organized by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Oman and the Arab Society of Certified accountants (ASCA), and it coincides with the tenth annual conference for the establishment of ASCA.
The convening of this conference comes as a result of the organizing parties’ beliefs in the role that the accounting profession plays in the process of economic building of any nation. The conference is also held in order to focus on the significance of accounting education and qualification programs and their role in creating a qualified accountant who’s able to the needs of his/her clients and is able to be compatible/adaptable to the changes he/she may face during his/her practical career.
The seminar will address a number of topics such as the role of universities in the accounting education and qualification process, and the nature of the role of professional bodies and societies in this process. The seminar will discuss the methods of cooperation between these bodies in order to raise the level of accounting education in the Arab region, and the most important future steps and procedures that must be considered to fulfill the objectives of the education and qualification process.
The seminar will also tackle the most important qualification programs suggested in the Arab world, the most significant which is the program to obtain the ACPA (Arab Certified Public Accountant) certificate, which was created by ASCA and has received widespread acceptance and recognition in a large number of Arab states.
