Intellectual Property Society Meets in Amman
16 Aug 1995The Arab Society for the Protection of Industrial Property (ASPIP) will convene its first meeting in the Jordanian capital of Amman during September 27-30, coinciding with the annual meeting for the Pharmaceutical Trademarks Group.
A press release issued from the society’s office in Kuwait received by the Kuwaiti News Agency said that this is the first time the Pharmaceutical Trademarks Group convenes its meeting outside a European capital.
The press release added that more than 300 intellectual property (IP) specialists and experts from around the world will be attending the meetings, with the purpose of opening new areas of dialogue amongst Arabs and specialized international bodies and institutions working in IP protection.
The release also stated that the meeting will address several important items such as pharmaceutical trademarks registration in Arab countries and the need for an Arab patents office affiliated with the League of Arab States, in addition to discussing the draft for the academic program that will qualify the discipline’s practitioners.
