USAID Nominates Jordan Customs Employees to Participate in a Qualification Course to Obtain ACPA
03 Aug 2011AMMAN------ August 3, 2011------- The Arab Society of Certified Accountants (Jordan) held an Arab Certified Public Accountant (ACPA) qualification course which was attended by participants from all sectors, including employees from Jordan Customs Department.
The USAID selected the ACPA qualification course held by ASCA (Jordan) to be provided to employees representing all sectors including the Jordan Customs Department employees.
A number of university professors as well as experts of accounting and auditing lectured in the course, and students were introduced to the nature of ACPA examinations by presenting an overview of ACPA curriculum comprising eight modules.
At conclusion, certificates of attendance were awarded to students in the presence of USAID Financial and Administrative Manager, Mr. Fadi Al Dawoud- and USAID Financial Reform Project Coordinator Ms. Juliet Al Najjar.
Mr. Al Dawoud delivered a speech in which he congratulated participants and wished them success in examinations to obtain the ACPA. He also tackled the role and efforts of USAID in the field of qualification and capacity building as well as its interest in developing productive, economic and social sectors in Jordan. In this respect, he highlighted the efforts exerted by ASCA (Jordan) under the chairmanship of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh in the field of professional qualification and training to advance the accounting and auditing professions in the Arab region.
In addition, Mr. Al Dawoud referred to the level of the course in terms of organization and information content, expressing his hope that the cooperation with ASCA (Jordan) will continue to hold other courses at all levels.
ASCA (Jordan) Manager, Mr. Salem Al Oury, extended his thanks to Mr. Al Dawoud for his interest in ASCA (Jordan) activities and for USAID nomination of Jordan Customs employees to participate in the course. He also stressed the readiness of ASCA (Jordan) to promote cooperation in all fields with a view to realizing the common objectives in qualifying and building capacities of the youth.
