Abu-Ghazaleh and Al-Saidi also listened to the President’s directives on the conference topics and what practical decisions can result from it, with the objective of putting a strategy in place that relevant society sectors can participate in. These sectors include universities, labor unions and civil society organizations, in addition to the governmental sector represented by its ministries and public institutions.
It is worth noting that this conference will take place prior to the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) in Geneva in December 2003, where President Lahoud will head the Lebanese delegation.
