Accounting for Non Accountants Course Begins, Internal Auditing Workshop Concludes

AMMAN - A training course and workshop entitled "Internal Auditing - Definition, Goals and Procedures - organized by Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Professional Training (PROTAG), concluded yesterday with the participation of a number of employees from both the private and public sectors in Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Oman.
 
In a statement to Al Dustour, PROTAG's Executive Director said that the aim of the week-long course was to familiarize participants with the basic definitions of internal auditing, its importance and role in various institutions in addition to familiarizing them on the organization of the internal audit division, its administration as well as the modern principles and standards that govern its processes. The course also focused on the definitions, skills and necessary techniques required for internal auditing procedures as well as the most prominent problems facing auditors and their solutions and the necessary skills for report writing and basic accounting audit skills.
 
Moreover, the scientific framework of the course included several topics, most important of which was the definition of internal auditing, similarities between internal and external auditing, the set standards of the profession, infrastructure of the internal auditing division and quality control on its process of work, planning for audit procedures, internal control regulations, analytical review procedures, working papers, audit programs, usage of samples and internal audit reports and auditing accounts.
On a separate note, PROTAG announced that it will be starting today a training course entitled "Accounting for Non-Accountants". The importance of this course comes at a time where decision-makers are obliged to know how to read accounting reports and analyze them with speed and efficiency, given the region's recent active business and investment movement.
 
It is worth noting that these training courses are part of a training plan announced by PTOTAG with the aim of developing and exploiting Arab capabilities as well as educational, professional and technical experiences which is the ideal alternative to foreign experiences.
