Gift to Create Websites for Ministries
12 Jun 2003Yesterday, an announcement was made relating to the launch of a project in the form of a grant, presented to the Lebanese government by Talal Abu-Ghazaleh and Co. International (TAGI), to create five websites for the ministries of finance, energy and water, labour, pedagogy and higher education, and the Public Administration Institute.
On this occasion, the minister of administrative development Karim Bakradouni and the chairman of the granting company Talal Abu-Ghazaleh held a press conference at the Ministry of Administrative Development. There, the minister thanked Abu-Ghazaleh for the gift which came as a part of the infrastructure project for the electronic government and as part of the project for the unified center for administrative information.
This represents the first step for executing one of the recommendations of administrative media program which called for the assistance of all ministries to create a website for each one of them.
Abu-Ghazaleh considered the project a step in transforming into a knowledge-based society and the creation of e-government.
