Jordan Telecom's Information Systems sector gains top quality award
10 May 2004AMMAN - Jordan Telecom announced today that its Information Systems sector has been awarded ISO 9001:2000 certification, underscoring Jordan Telecom's commitment to provide cutting-edge services to its customers that meet international standards.
“We are delighted at this confirmation that Jordan Telecom's Information Systems management and staff are now performing to global standards of quality management and customer service,” Jordan Telecom CEO Laurent Mialet, said.
“ISO 9001 is a standard that measures customer service and this sector is responsible for delivering important services and access to our customers,” he added.
Jordan Telecom's Information Systems sector is responsible for a number of customer services, including the company's billing operations which manage information processing and bill system management.
The ISO standard sets benchmarks for quality within these processes, assuring customers that errors are minimized and that customer interaction and queries are managed efficiently, a Jordan Telecom statement released yesterday said.
“We are here for our customers and we are dedicated to developing better, stronger, customer services with all our energy,” commented Mialet.
“The Information Systems sector in the company has worked hard to meet the requirements of ISO 9001, in all of its processes and activities,” Jordan Telecom Chief Information Officer Rula Ammuri said. “In the past four months, we have followed a clear strategy to build the standards of quality set by the ISO. This move means that we are operating a world class Quality Management System (QMS) to fully meet and exceed our customers' expectations,” she added.
The scope of the Quality Management System which has been certified covers various key activities: IT Projects Management, Software Design and Development, Systems Integration, Operations, Administration and Maintenance, Customer Relation Management for Requirements and Acceptance, the End User's Functional & Technical Support, Training and Help Desk Services.
“We are very proud of this achievement... this drives us to work harder to receive other ISO certifications. We believe that by the end of this year we will be adding further quality-based systems...” Ammuri said.
The ISO certification was issued by the SGS Company, one of the top certification bodies, amongst all the accreditation bodies worldwide. The offices of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh in Jordan supported the Information Systems sector during the preparations for the process of being certified, according to the statement.
