Syria Forms an IP Advisory Committee

DAMASCUS - Syrian Minister of Economy and Trade, Dr. Amer Hosni Lutfi, issued on December 11, 2005 decision No. 2599 which stipulates the formation of an advisory committee that will be responsible for examining legal texts and international treaties administering the work of the Industrial Property Protection Department (IPPD) at the Ministry of Economy and Trade, a press release by Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) stated.
Executive Director of AGIP Syria office, Mohammad Azmeh, was nominated to this committee.
The committee, which is headed by the Minister and incorporates 14 members, will develop mechanisms to harmonize the working procedures of the IPPD at the Ministry.
