Prime Minister to Sponsor Ceremony for Opening of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh College of Business

26 Feb 2006
AMMAN – The opening ceremony for the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh College of Business (TAGCB) will take place tomorrow evening under the patronage of the Prime Minister, Dr. Marouf Albakhit. TAGCB will be a major college at the German-Jordanian University (GJU), which is an official government university.

University President Dr. Labib Alkhadra stated that this college is the fruit of the first strategic partnership between the public and private sectors in the field of higher education in the Kingdom.
He added that as with the other university’s colleges, this one will focus on the quality of graduates and not their quantity, stating: “The teaching at the university excels in graduating students that become qualified, trained and ready to enter the labor market, without the need to train them after graduation. This is what distinguishes the partnership between the labor and academic sectors.”

He further elaborated that the college is preparing Master’s programs in numerous specializations, in collaboration with longstanding global universities. It is expected that the Master’s program in Business Administration will begin with the upcoming academic semester starting in September 2006.

Dr. Alkhadra said that the college, with all the advanced equipment and facilities it has, qualifies it to become the largest center for training for all vocations and in particular those related to accounting qualification, intellectual property and computer usage skills. The college will also cooperate with the Arab Society of Certified Accountants (ASCA) in accounting related areas, according to Alkhadra
