He added, "My participation in the coming FICPI World Congress held in Paris, May 22-26, 2006 will be a very interesting and fruitful experience."
Meanwhile, and according to a statement by FICPI President Francis Ahner, "The overarching theme of the Congress will be the quest for balance within all areas of Intellectual Property. Such balance is essential if Intellectual Property is to play its vital role as a driving force of the economy."
The Congress will highlight the following topics: balancing patents with economic development, balancing fair protection of inventions with a reasonable degree of certainty to third parties, balancing privacy law with IP laws, balancing IP rights with public policy as well as balancing the interests of all participants in the patent system.
FICPI members will be involved in providing professional counsel and input to governments, agencies and international organizations in the field of intellectual property as well as helping ensure that decisions made today fuel balanced development and growth.
