Arab Certified Intellectual Property Practitioner Holds Its Third Course on Patents & Trade Secrets

AMMAN - The Arab Society for Intellectual Property (ASIP) announced that it will be holding the third course on “Patents of Invention and Trade Secrets” within the Arab Certified Intellectual Property Practitioner (ACIPP) program in cooperation with Talal Abu-Ghazaleh College of Business (TAGCB) on June 28, 2006.
Currently, the second course entitled “Trademarks and Unfair Competition” is being held at the College premises. The final exam for this course is expected to be held June 20, 2006.
ACIPP’s program consists of four courses as follows:
The first: Introduction to IP
The second: Trademarks and Unfair Competition (+training)
The third: Patents of Invention and Trade Secrets (+training)
The fourth: Copyright and Related Rights (+training)
While concerning the advanced courses, each course will be at least 36 studying hours, addressing in depth subjects and issues not covered by the papers.
ACIPP is a professional Arabic program offering advanced teaching and training for Arab practitioners. It aims at providing an easier understanding of modern principles that govern IP, as well as access to knowledge and international developments, so that the practitioner may be able to provide his/her services in line with international standards.
Last June, ASIP Chairman Talal Abu-Ghazaleh and President of the University of Jordan, Abdelrahim A. Hunaiti, signed the ACIPP Agreement, which took effect from the date of its signing.
