AMMAN - Licensing Executives Society-Arab Countries (LES-AC) will be holding the “Fundamentals of Intellectual Asset Management” Course (IAM 100) which is part of its Professional Development Series (PDS) September 3-5, 2006 at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Collage of Business/ German Jordanian University, in Amman.
The PDS curriculum was developed by LES International and translated into Arabic by LES-AC's most knowledgeable members. PDS is a specialty program for Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) professionals, including those responsible for licensing and business development: lawyers, financial and business development professionals, and intellectual asset managers in all industries.
A Certificate of Intellectual Asset Management Expert will be awarded to those who participate in the entire program (Fundamentals (IAM 101-103), Intermediate (IAM 201-205), and Advanced (IAM 300)).
The first level, the Fundamentals (IAM 101-103), is an interactive three-day course intended for both new and seasoned licensing professionals. These foundational courses are prerequisites for the 200-level courses in the Professional Development Series.
Since the content is introductory, participants in Fundamentals typically have less than three years’ experience in the field. Those responsible for licensing and business development find this program particularly beneficial. The participants learn basic concepts and skills necessary for successful intellectual asset managers.
After completing Fundamentals, students will be able to:
• Use the fundamental language of intellectual property and licensing
• Identify basic legal issues
• Understand how to develop an intellectual asset management process
• Participate in analyzing and assessing the portfolio of intellectual assets
• Understand how technologies are valued
• Recognize and use successful strategies for negotiating and closing a deal
• Understand the business factors that contribute to successful agreement.
