AGIP Exclusively Offers Trademark and Patent Search Services in UAE
08 Aug 2006AMMAN - Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP), through its Intellectual Property Published Registrations (IPPR) Department (AGIP's Data Center), has initiated one of its leading services in the field of IP, a press release by AGIP stated.
The "Search for Published Trademarks" service, which allows clients to explore a wide range of trademark portfolios, is exclusively available to AGIP clients in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
"Before a client decides whether to file an application for the registration of a trademark in the UAE, it is important to check the availability of the mark against potentially conflicting earlier trademark rights owned by third parties," Manager of the IPPR Department, Mohannad Ismail said.
To meet this need, AaGIP offers a prompt and cost-effective trademark searching service for trademarks published in the Official Gazettes in the UAE.
"After conducting a comprehensive trademark search and within less than 24 hours a full detailed search report will be sent to the client including extensive information concerning any similar or matching mark," he added.
AGIP introduced a similar service, last month, called "Search for Published Patents" in which patents in the UAE are searched according to the inventor, title of the patent or the patent families, or according to other search criteria.
AGIP’s charges for "Search for Published Trademarks" and "Search for Published Patents" are $70 and $80 respectively.
Intellectual Property Published Registrations (IPPR) is a unique and comprehensive database of all trademarks- published in the Arab world with more than one million entries- and patents. Compiled exclusively by AGIP for its clients, the database includes records of renewals, assignments and all other actions as of the filing date of each trademark as well as records for the patent families.
