The Aqaba Development Co. via the Jordan Hashemite Fund will continue to accept these applications for a period of three days, namely till the evening of Wednesday September 20, particularly for rare specializations that are approved by the designated committees, in order to be appropriate with the future needs of the labor market.

Members of the local community can benefit from the scholarships granted by the Aqaba Development Co. as long as they meet the standards agreed upon by the company and the Jordan Hashemite Fund for Human Progress–Princess Basma Center for Progress, which are of a competitive nature. The Aqaba Development Co. had signed a memorandum of understanding with the Fund last month that stated the company will provide ten scholarships to members of the local community for the Bachelors degree, three scholarships for the Masters degree, one for the PhD program and three for the Masters degree of the Aqaba College. These are all to begin with the commencement of the 2005-2006 academic year.

Additionally, four seats will have a 50% discount for the members of the local Aqaba community, by TAGorg.

Per the agreement, the Aqaba Development Co. will provide thirty thousand JDs to the Jordan Hashemite Fund for the first academic year only, which is the estimated cost of all scholarships granted at various educational stages during the upcoming academic year. The funds will be administered by the Princess Basma Center for Progress-Aqaba branch.
