Second Innovation Promotion and Technology Commercialization Conference Concludes
16 Nov 2006AMMAN - The Second Innovation Promotion and Technology Commercialization Conference concluded its sessions on Thursday calling for an expansion in investments in the technology field through implementing proper policies in order to create an appropriate environment for the utilization of technology.
Participants also recommended that there is an urgent need to promote and inform the local society about the different parties involved in protecting Intellectual Property (IP), setting up an educational plan to present IP in schools and universities curriculum and establishing a department specialized in IP directly linked to the libraries.
Earlier, several topics were discussed on the second day's session of mainly: valuing Intellectual Property, protecting Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) for computer software, path to commercialization, nanotechnology and commercialization, applying the far Asian Techno- Revolution in the Arab world and supporting Intellectual Property and innovation.
HRH Princess Sumaya, head of the Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) presented trophies to representatives of the National Fund for Enterprise Support (NAFES) and Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAGorg) for their efforts in making this event a success.
The Second Innovation Promotion and Technology Commercialization Conference held at the PSUT is organized by the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship (QRCE), and it is part of the Technology Commercialization Program (TCP) which falls under the umbrella of Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship.
