Under the Patronage of Princess Sumaya Bint Al-Hasan: Agreement Signed between RSS and AGIP
23 Feb 2007AMMAN - In a step to enhance strategic cooperation between the private sector and the scientific and research domain, Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) and the Royal Scientific Society (RSS) signed a cooperation agreement under the patronage and attendance of the RSS President Princess Sumaya Bint Al-Hasan, and the attendance of the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAGorg) Chairman Talal Abu-Ghazaleh.
The agreement was signed in order to enhance the existing cooperation between these two institutions, particularly in the fields of intellectual property (IP), training and consultations. Under this agreement, AGIP becomes the technical consultant of the RSS in all issues relating to IP, as it will offer services relating to consulting, registration, and international protection of IP rights for items relevant to the RSS or its innovators.
AGIP will also offer financial valuation and commercial investment services for these rights, in collaboration with the various Talal Abu-Ghazaleh firms. Under the agreement, cooperation has been created in the field of patents, as the company presents technical research services relating to who may have precedence on patents. The society offers services for the technical examination required for the purposes of registering patents.
In the area of training, the two sides agreed to cooperate in setting up training courses and specialized workshops in numerous fields and particularly IP. AGIP will also convene various courses and workshops for the benefit of the RSS, in order to develop the technical and legal knowledge of the RSS employees in fields of IP rights and commercial investment in resulting technological applications.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Khaled Kahhaleh on Vice-Chair of the RSS, and Mr. Louay Abu-Ghazaleh, Vice-Chair of TAGorg.
