Business Administration Forum Opening Tomorrow Will Discuss Liberalization of Global Trade
26 Mar 2007The Council of Bahrain University Students will hold the Business Administration Forum tomorrow, which will last 3 days. It is expected that approximately 700 students from the Bahrain University will participate in the forum, in addition to students from private universities and the Qatari and Kuwaiti delegations.
The Chair of the organizing committee Mr. Ahmed Alharban said that “the cost of the forum was 12 thousand Dinars, most of which was sponsored by companies.” He added that “we will request the university’s assistance whenever we need to”.
Alharban pointed out that “this forum comes after the success of the forum last year entitled ‘Private Business and Small and Medium Sized Ventures’”. He said this year’s forum is entitled “Liberalization of Trade, Opportunities and Challenges” and that an elite group of specialists at the economic, legal and other levels will be speaking in it.
Alharban emphasized that “the objective of the forum is educating students on economic globalization and introducing the World Trade Organization (WTO), its aims and its role in liberalizing trade between countries.” He added that it will “shed light on the opportunities and challenges facing the developing world in light of the free global economy and discuss the future of free Bahraini trade.”
The opening ceremony is expected to include welcoming speeches from the deanship of students’ affairs at the university and the student council. The main forum speaker will be Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, Founder and Chairman of the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization, which is considered the largest Arab company that provides professional services in the fields of accounting, administrative consulting, technology transfer and training.
Also at the forum, numerous experts will participate including Professor of Economy at the UAE University Dr. Yousef Khalifah, the Professor of Economy at the University of Qatar Mr. Saleh Alnabet, the Dean of the College of Economy at the King Faisal University in Saudi Arabia Mr. Hasan Alhajhooh, and other leading economy figures.
