NEW DELHI - Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) announced in a Wednesday press release that it has been recently selected to the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) Expert Committee on the World Trade Organization (WTO) and Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs).
Chaired by Kewal Handa, Managing Director of Pfizer Limited/India, the 27-member committee will be involved in drafting and amending IP laws and regulations in India. It includes representatives from pharmaceutical, research and IP companies and organizations.
“By joining the ASSOCHAM Expert Committee, AGIP, which is already an associate member of the ASSOCHAM General Body, expects to contribute to the growing IP business in India,” AGIP India Office Manager, Khalid Al- Khalid, said.
“This selection came as a result of AGIP’s extensive experience in the IPR field and its interactions with ASSOCHAM in several IP-related forums,” he added.

ASSOCHAM has more than 60 expert committees in various sectors including drugs and pharmaceuticals, telecom, industry, international trade, cyber law and IT, education, science and technology, tourism and corporate governance.
