After a Delay of 3 months of the Ittifaq Club Elections: Date Set for August or September and Presidency between Alasfour and Nasr
19 Jul 2007A delay of 3 months for the elections of the Ittifaq club has taken place, due to auditing reasons given by the General Institution for Youth and Sport. This came as a result of the merger breakup with the Ittifaq club, as the previous administration had bills listed in its financial report with no legal backing (such as receipts and so on). Therefore and as a result of discussions with the previous financial director during the time of the merger, the General Institution for Youth and Sport adopted the report prepared by the auditing firm Talal Abu-Ghazaleh International (TAGI), which has been handed to the Ittifaq club.
As for the upcoming elections date, the secretary of the Ittifaq club, Mr. Mohammed Hasan Aladab told Alwasat: “The ball is now in the court of the administration after the adoption of the financial report. The General Institution for Youth and Sport gave us the green light to set the elections date but due to the travel of four members on the board of directors outside Bahrain, we are forced to postpone these elections till the end of August or early September. The date may even be postponed out to the holy month (of Ramadan) due to the conflicting schedule of early September with religious events. However, all options are on the table, one of which will be decided upon in a couple of weeks when the current administration meets to determine the election date.”
