TAGSB Organizes Training Course on 'Governance and Risk Management'

The training course focused on the importance of companies and banks governance, the effects of the global financial crisis, the main frameworks of the risk management, Basel III application, setting up an effective board of directors at the financial institutions, the importance of establishing internal auditing departments, and the role of the management control in the financial firms and institutions

AMMAN ----- May 2, 2011------ In cooperation with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Graduate School of Business (TAGSB) held recently a training course on “Governance and Risk Management”.In cooperation with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) – World Bank Group

Directors, Board Members, and Risk Unit Managers at banks and major financial institutions from five Arab states; Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Oman, Lebanon, Jordan, and Palestine took part in the event.

The training course focused on corporate governance and the unique nature of governance at banks, global financial crisis and implications, risk management framework, Basel III application, building an effective and efficient board of directors at the financial institutions, the importance of establishing internal auditing departments, and the role of the management control in the financial firms and institutions.

At the end of the course, participants received their certifications from Dr. Majdy Zuriekat, the Administrative and Financial Director at TAGSB and Mr. Yehia El Husseiny, Operations Officer at IFC in MENA region.
