Enterprise Monitoring and Evaluation Workshop Concludes

Communications are underway to implement Senator Talal Abu-Ghazaleh’s Proposal to hold a regional conference on alleviating food problem-Mustafa Nasereddin
AMMAN-----March 7, 2011------ The regional workshop on Advanced Program in Enterprise Monitoring and Evaluation concluded recently at the Landmark Hotel in Amman.
The workshop was held in implementation of the agreement signed between Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org), Capacity Building in Managing for Results and Impact (CaMaRI), Regional Centre on Agrarian Reform and Rural Development in the Near East (CARDNE), and German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).
A total number of 47 trainees participated in the workshop from five Arab countries namely: Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine and Yemen. The workshop aimed at building capacity in enterprise monitoring and evaluation to increase abilities in supporting and guiding rural development enterprises supervised by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
In the closing session, Mr. Mustafa Nasereddin, chief executive director and representative of HE Senator Talal Abu-Ghazaleh stressed that TAG-Org is keen on exerting all possible efforts that would contribute to solving all problems facing the Arab world.
He also congratulated all participants expressing hopes that they will invest in their information, experience and skills acquired throughout the training period and link them to the performance indicators and development goals in their respective countries. He further stressed that they should continue to communicate with each other to promote the exchange of experience and information.
Nasereddin also expressed his thanks and appreciation to the sponsoring institutions participating in the Program.
“TAG-Org will make necessary contacts and arrangements with international and Arab institutions to implement the proposals of Senator Talal Abu- Ghazaleh in holding a regional conference to discuss the problems and solutions for poverty and food,” he added.
Senator Abu-Ghazaleh made the proposal in his opening speech during the previous session of the same Program.
Speaking in the closing sessions were Dr. Radi Altarawneh, secretary general of the Ministry of Agriculture in Jordan, Dr. Maximilian Rash , representative of the German Ambassador, Dr.Yohan Regner, GIZ’s director, and Dr. Ghaleb Tuffaha, CARDNE’s director.
