AMMAN ---------March 6, 2011--------Jordan hosted a high-level meeting to celebrate the launch of the 109th session of the Chinese Imports and Exports Fair (Canton Fair) with the participation of distinguished traders, industrialists, importers and exporters from China and Jordan.
The meeting was held in the presence of the Chinese Ambassador to Jordan HE Mr. Yue Xiaoyong, HE Senator Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman and CEO of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org), Mr. Fayez Al Fa’ori , deputy chairman of Amman Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Maher Mahrouq, general secretary of Amman Chamber of Industry and Mr. Rin Shiang Dong, CEO and deputy general manager of Chinese Foreign Trade Center.
HE Senator Abu-Ghazaleh delivered a speech, in which he expressed his appreciation for the opportunity in addressing such audience since TAG-Org is the partner of Chinese Foreign Trade Center under the agreement signed in January 2010.
He pointed out that this fair was referred to as “Canton Fair”, however, with 7000 years of Chinese wisdom, the leaders and planners deemed it useful to turn it into exports and imports fair whereby it will become a two-way road and provide an opportunity for exporters wishing to enter the Chinese market.
Senator Abu -Ghazaleh said "Under the partnership, we would provide our professional services through our office in Shanghai, which is the only licensed office to operate in its field, as well as our office in Amman, which represents TAG – Confucius and provides cultural services to the Jordanian community.”
He added, "We are proud to be chosen by the Chinese Embassy to issue visas for those who wish to travel from Jordan to China."
He addressed the attendees: “I look forward to meeting you at Canton Fair in its 109th session which takes place twice a year and we hope to rebuild the Silk Road between China and the Arab countries and construct a bridge of relations to serve our countries.”
He concluded, "Our aim is to enhance the Chinese-Arab partnership for the benefit of both worlds, we will work with the officials of the Fair on developing plans to achieve best results.”
Moreover, Senator Abu-Ghazaleh’s discussions focused on the significance of economic cooperation and commercial exchange between China and Jordan as well as the eagerness of leaders of both countries to support and develop such cooperation to serve the mutual interests. He also confirmed the importance of participating in the next session of the Chinese Imports and Exports Fair.
