Council of Jordan's Future Vision in 2021 Approves the Vision’s Framework, Sets Up Committees to Draft Policies

AMMAN ---- The Economic Policy Development Forum (EPDF) held the second meeting of the Council of Jordan's Future Vision in 2021 at the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Forum.
The Council adopted the slogan of the national vision of Jordan in its 100th Anniversary to be: "Jordan Enjoys Comprehensive Economic, Developmental, Social, and Political Security."
Moreover, the Council formed three taskforces to draw the proposed policies of the main three components. Heads of taskforces were elected to propose policies to achieve the vision as follows:
- Political Component, headed by Ms. Reem Badran.
- Economic and Development Component, headed by HE Dr. Mohammad Abu Hamour.
- Social Component, headed by HE Senator Dr. Hayfa Al Najar.
It’s worth mentioning that the Economic Policy Development Forum conducted some sectorial studies suitable to be basic material for the three taskforce's work. Meanwhile, the Council holds ongoing periodic meetings, supported by the Forum’s experts towards achieving the vision and its components to be submitted to HM King Abdullah II in the nearest future in response to the desire of His Majesty to mobilize all sectors of the Kingdom, including the private sector, to submit their proposals to achieve the desired vision.
The Economic Policy Development Forum was established in June 2011 as an independent unofficial self-voluntary initiative with the aim to advance the economic development. The Forum includes former ministers, officials, thinkers, businessmen, academics, and civil community leaders. The Forum’s taskforces conducted many studies in different disciplines addressing the performance weaknesses and malfunctions to help the official institutions tackle them.
