TAG- Knowledge Tackles Nuclear Energy in Jordan

Hammad highlighted the ongoing efforts by the Society to enrich and update the information and knowledge of its members


AMMAN --- December 28, 2010 --- Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Society (TAG-Knowledge) hosted a seminar on “Nuclear Energy” which was attended by members of the Society and interested individuals.TAG- Knowledge Tackles Nuclear Energy in Jordan

The seminar, delivered by pharmacist Basel Burqan, director of Burqan Drugstores, shed light on nuclear energy in terms of definition, its negative effects on the area, in addition to alternatives to nuclear energy such as wind, solar and wave energies. He also tackled the costs of nuclear projects and its challenges.

While concerning the requirements for establishing nuclear projects, Mr. Burqan stressed the need to adhere to high standards of accuracy noting that the industrialized countries are more capable of absorbing and dealing with the requirements of the nuclear project management. The lecturer also discussed the obstacles encountered by the developed countries in this area in terms of costs and their negative effects on the environment.

The seminar came up with several recommendations, including, the support for clean energy projects instead of the nuclear power ones.

TAG-Knowledge Executive Director Mr. Tareq Hammad highlighted the ongoing efforts by the Society to enrich and update the information and knowledge of its members.

“This seminar is part of our corporate social responsibility to promote awareness regarding vital issues that encounter the society and explain ambiguous concepts,” Hammad said.

The attendants unanimously agreed that the theme of the seminar is of great significance thanking TAG-Knowledge for giving them this opportunity to enrich their knowledge and information and keep them updated with the latest scientific issues.

TAG-Knowledge is the latest initiative by HE Senator Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh to perform its corporate social responsibility towards the Jordanian and Arab communities, and to be a hub for promoting intellect and knowledge, developing Arab youth and human resources, and qualifying the largest number of local professionals by providing them with competitive skills through exposure to knowledge and developments in the international community under the direct supervision of TAG-Org experts.
