TAG-Confucius Strengthens Cooperation with Confucius Institute Headquarters in China

Dr. Xu thanked the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization for hosting the TAG-Confucius Institute in Amman and showed willingness to strengthen cooperation between the Organization and Confucius Institute Headquarters through the establishment of more centers that teach Chinese language in the Arab world in coordination between the two parties


BEIJING --- November 11, 2010 --- Mr. Luay Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman of TAG-Confucius Institute Board, vice chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) and Dr. Xu Lin, Counselor of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, director general of HANBAN and chief executive of Confucius Institute Headquarters have recently discussed in Beijing aspects of joint current and future cooperation.

During the meeting, Dr. Xu expressed her satisfaction with the progress made by TAG - Confucius Institute in Amman and commended the level of Chinese language teaching in Jordan and mechanisms of introducing the Chinese culture in the Kingdom. Dr. Xu also thanked the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) for hosting the TAG-Confucius Institute in Amman and showed willingness to strengthen cooperation between the Organization and Confucius Institute Headquarters through the establishment of more centers that teach Chinese language in the Arab world in coordination between the two parties.

From his part, Mr. Luay Abu-Ghazaleh highly praised the partnership between TAG-Org and Confucius Institute Headquarters.

“Our partnership with Confucius Institute Headquarters is very promising and is being enhanced day after day through the outstanding relations with the government and Chinese universities,” he said.


The Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Confucius Institute (TAG-Confucius) was established in September 2008 to promote the Chinese language and culture, in order to reach a better mutual understanding between Arab and Chinese cultures.
It is one-of-a-kind initiative based on the cooperation agreement between TAG-Org and the Confucius Institute in China.
The Institute was named after Confucius, the world-renowned great thinker, educator and philosopher in Chinese history. Confucius's thoughts have influenced China and other areas in the world for nearly 2000 years.
