Arab Society of Certified Accountants Holds its 25th Annual Meeting

After 25 years of introducing its services to qualify Arab accountants according to the highest standards; ASCA is eager to develop capacity building of young generation in the Arab countries-Mr. Abu Ghazaleh.
AMMAN----- November 4, 2010-------- The Arab Society of Certified Accountants “ASCA” held its annual meeting for members of the Board of Directors and General Assembly at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Business Forum- Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Graduate School of Business Administration, Amman- Jordan.
Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman of the Board, congratulated all members on the 25th anniversary of ASCA’s establishment and thanked them for the ongoing support provided to ASCA.
Mr. Abu-Ghazaleh stressed on the importance of providing training courses specialized in international standards and conducting an awareness campaign related to the changes of international standards, which were markedly changed after the Arab Financial and Accounting Forum- Resolutions of the G20 Summit held in Beirut- Lebanon last year, where ASCA was one of the prominent organizers.
Mr. Abu-Ghazaleh stressed on the importance of developing a five-year plan with a view to building capacity in the Arab world by giving priority to training in the professional services through holding courses on international accounting standards as well as qualification to obtain the ACPA in all over the Arab world.
ASCA is preparing to launch a specialized professional certificate under the title “Arab Certified Management Accountant (ACMA)” in the first half of 2011. Such certificate aims at setting professional performance standards for those working in the field of management accounting and financial management in the Arab world, providing its holders with excellence in the contemporary economic environment and giving them the opportunity to develop their capabilities in the decision making process.
Moreover, Mr. Maisara Salameh from Ramallah Center who ranked first in the ACPA qualification for November 2009 round was honored by granting him Adel Al Sa’adi Award for Outstanding Achievement in ACPA Qualification.
This Award is presented by Mr. Abu-Ghazaleh in recognition of Dr. Al Sa’adi for the third consecutive year.

The Arab Society of Certified Accountants (ASCA) was established on January12, 1984 as a non-profit professional accounting association in London, UK. It was formally registered in Amman on February 24, 1994
under the name “The Arab Society of Certified Accountants”. ASCA works on providing the Arab world with Arab accountants with academic and practical qualifications that are at par with established international qualifications. ASCA also keeps pace with economic events, and develops and publishes new financial and business concepts and ideas in order to provide its members and associates with the ability and means to keep pace with developments and innovations in their field and to excel in the professions of accounting and auditing.
