TAG- Confucius Hosts Arabs and the Future of China Lecture

The event held under the patronage of His Excellency the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Mr. Yu Hong Yang and attended by a host of diplomats and students tackled the strong relationship between China and the Arab world


AMMAN ------ May 27, 2010------ The Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Confucius Institute (TAG- Confucius) hosted a lecture by Mr. Samer Khair Ahmad, author of Arabs and the Future of China.TAG- Confucius Hosts Arabs and the Future of China Lecture

The event held under the patronage of His Excellency the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Mr. Yu Hong Yang and attended by a host of diplomats and students tackled the strong relationship between China and the Arab world.

Mr. Ahmad presented his book and discussed the many topics related to the relationship between the Chinese and Arabs stressing on the historical elements that led to the cooperation between the two nations.

He also tackled in details the role of culture in both nations which was discussed in his new book citing the importance of having an institution such as TAG-Confucius to present the Chinese cultural to the world.

Meanwhile, HE the Chinese Ambassador commended on the relationship between China and Jordan calling it "a unique one."

He also thanked the author for his efforts and asked for more books that will help in developing better understanding and cooperation among Arabs and Chinese. TAG- Confucius Hosts Arabs and the Future of China Lecture

Mr. Mohammad Sami Al-Kharouf, TAG-Confucius director expressed his satisfaction with the number of interested people in this type of lectures.

"We are really happy to host such events which also play another role where people try to interact and know more about both cultures," he said.


About TAG- Confucius

Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Confucius Institute was established in September 2008 to promote the Chinese language and culture, in order to reach a better mutual understanding between Arab and Chinese cultures.This is one-of-a-kind initiative based on the cooperation agreement between Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) and the Confucius Institute in China. The Institute was named after Confucius, the world-renowned great thinker, educator and philosopher in Chinese history. Confucius's thoughts have influenced China and other areas in the world for nearly 2000 years.
