Al Zarqa University and IASCA Sign Cooperation Agreement

11 Dec 2013   ZARQA------- December 11, 2013------ The International Arab Society of Certified Accountants (IASCA) and Al Zarqa University signed a cooperation agreement in the field of professional training and other specialized courses.
 
The agreement signed during the International Open Day of Al- Zarqa University by HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, IASCA chairman and Prof. Mahmoud Al-Wadi, president of the University in the presence of HE Dr. Mahmoud Abu Shua'ira, chairman of the University, deans and officials from both parties.
 
According to Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh the agreement aims at contributing to the development of professional competencies in order to meet the needs of the labor market to progress simultaneously with the academic curricula offered by the University.
 
"Through the agreement we qualify students and youth in the governance of Zarqa where they will be given several professional certificates depending on each major whether it was management, international accountancy or Islamic banking," Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh said.
 
He added that TAG-Knowledge Center which will be established at the University will benefit all members of the society and facilitate obtaining of professional certificates by interested students.
 
Prof. Al-Wadi welcomed Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh's visit expressing his pride in the creative initiative from IASCA which aims at translating the initiative of His Majesty King Abdullah II saying:"Today we witness the birth of a cooperation agreement between Al-Zarqa University and a deep-rooted organization. This agreement will follow a non-traditional path and creativity in implementation; it is the most comprehensive regionally for the methodology of integrated economic education and it provides several alternatives for management, accounting, economics, business administration and finance and banking courses and curricula."
 
 
In addition, Prof. Al-Wadi added: "The community service and continuous education center at the University is keen on providing service to students. Hence, this agreement will contribute on qualifying both students and employees in the governance in order to obtain professional certificates and be ready for the labor market."
 
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh met with students and tackled all aspects of living in a knowledge world saying that knowledge has been doubling every two years in the past decades but today it doubles every two weeks:"You will not face any difficulty if you learn how to search for information; we aim to create a new culture in education because we believe that the future will be ruled by digital individuals as any job will be digitally run. Thus, through the knowledge center that will be established at the University, this expertise will be passed to anyone interested in a better future."
 
He further mentioned a report issued by the International Telecommunication Union that divided human beings into digital citizens who were born and fed IT and telecommunication and others who migrated to the knowledge world; pointing out that there is no place for any individual who doesn’t own knowledge. He also stated that the world is quickly shifting from the traditional to the digital state, this is indicated by the increase in the percentage of digital individuals who are expected to become the vast majority in 2020.
