Abu-Ghazaleh Patronizes the 10th Arab Youth Competition for Creative Electronic Design & JubiTech Expo

AMMAN --- May 16, 2013 ----Under the patronage of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) and in the presence of HE Ms. Laila Sharaf and Ms. Hana Shahin, executive director of King Hussein Foundation, the Jubilee School organized an official ceremony to announce the winners in the 10th Arab Youth Competition for Creative Electronic Design. Students from the Ministry of Education, educational centers, schools in the private sectors in addition to students from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates took part in the competition.
The participating websites were evaluated and judged by a committee of specialists from both public and private academic institutions, universities, ministries and pioneer technological companies.
In his opening speech, HE Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh stressed on the significance of the knowledge revolution in introducing a generation that is specialized in the information technology field to serve its society.
“Thanks to the Information Technology, we are heading towards a knowledge revolution that is much bigger of what we currently witness or that we can ever expect,” he addressed a large host of academics, educational experts and students.
“Out of our belief in the importance of IT in developing all fields, TAG-Org is working on launching a number of IT-based initiatives including eTAGCyclopedia, the largest Arab encyclopedia to enrich the Internet with Arabic content because we believe that there is a shortage in the sources of credible information of Arabic content on the Web. eTAGCyclopedia will provide database with information in various humanitarian sciences fields at the highest standards.”
He added “we are working on establishing an Arab center to resolve disputes and its the fifth accredited center in the world. Being in the Arab region grants the center a special significance by concentrating on domain name disputes in particular with the presence of arbitrators from around the world who are capable to solve these disputes in different languages.”
In addition, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh called on the students under the age of 13 years old to participate in an electronic contest organized by the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh University.
The Jubilee Student Headmistress Ms. Suha Joaneh said that the School since its inception encourages new initiatives and contributes in promoting concepts of technological educations in schools, and to open new horizons for creativity and innovation.
At the end of the ceremony, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh honored the sponsoring institutions, members of the judging committee, the winners and the participating students in the competition.
Moreover, Ms. Joaneh presented Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh with an honorary shield.
It’s worth mentioning that Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization is the gold sponsor of this event, in addition, Mr. Ramez Quneibi, head of TAG-Org Web Development Department, has been a judge at the competition committee for the fourth year in a raw and was awarded an honorary shield in recognition of his role and efforts.
